GUARDIAN EDGE DEVICE CONTROL
GuardianEdge Device Control gives enterprises scalable, policy-based control and management of devices connected to PCs as well as associated physical and wireless ports. By providing the ability to set granular device access control policies, it reduces risks while enabling administrators to allow access to approved externally connected devices required for day-to-day operation. Advanced capabilities for auditing internal ports, logging andmirroring data to central repositories, controllingWiFi network access, preventing hardware keyloggers, and protecting against auto-launch programs on devices, add an additional layer of defense to PCs and strong audit trails for compliance enforcement and reporting.
As a core component of the GuardianEdge Data Protection Platform, GuardianEdge Device Control also benefits fromthe platform’s unique, fully integrated data protection controls and enterprise-class manageability. By leveraging GuardianEdge’s unified administrative interface, common audit and reporting infrastructure, and shared user authentication, customers can deploy strong, cost-effective protection against data loss and data leakage.
Key features
The devices that connect to PCs via USB,WiFi, FireWire, Bluetooth and other protocols drive productivity, but increase the risk of sensitive data becoming compromised. To protect PCs, and the legally protected data or critical IP stored on them, enterprises need an effective solution for controlling access to connections, ports, and attached devices.

GuardianEdge Device Control protects sensitive,
private and legally protected information
against data leakage by preventing the
unauthorized transfer of data from PCs.
By delivering strong, policy-based control of actions allowed on devices connected to PC ports and wireless interfaces (read, write, execute, auto-run, etc), GuardianEdge Device Control provides an extra layer of protection against malware, viruses, keyloggers and other potentially malicious intrusions that could compromise data and systems. Software deployment is performed with standard systemtools (SMS, Active Directory GPO, etc.). GuardianEdge Device Control is offered in two tiers. The PlatformEdition offers seamless integration with the GuardianEdge Data Protection Platform. This comprehensive solution enables data protection security policies andmonitoring for compliance to bemanaged in combination with GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption and Removable Storage Encryption for complete policy-basedmanagement usingMicrosoft® Active Directory®.
